#7 Polar Bear Club - Factory Theatre, Sydney
After dinner in Newton with Lou and Tania, Stace and I quickly cabbed it over to the venue and made it JUST in time. It was weird being surrounded by teenage girls, as this show was actually the All Time Low sideshow… Although the bright side is that there weren’t very many tall people and I could actually see! I’m guessing they played the same set as what they played at Soundwave, as the last songs were the same. In between songs the singer snacked on a banana…
I fucking love this band, and wanted more! It went by so fast.

#6 Soundwave Sydney
SOIA didn’t arrive until lunchtime, so after meeting Lou and having a catch up we’d missed Gallows.
It was so great to see Shai Hulud after missing them in LA. They started with For The World, and ended with Misanthropy Pure, which couldn’t have been a better beginning and end for me!
Madball RULED. The sun came out, and then it rained, but I couldn’t be happier and it reminded me why I love this band so much. I was so stoked they played Look My Way!
We then ran to see Cancer Bats quickly, and then back to stage 6 for Sick Of It All. They were so much fun as always, and it was nice to see them with Stace.
My legs at this point were feeling like jelly, but we made it back to see the end of Polar Bear Club. It wasn’t super packed for them, and there was a gap where a giant mud puddle was, which meant I could see! They ended with The Redder The Better which was a REALLY nice surprise.
We also watched Fucked Up, while stuffing our faces. The site felt really deserted, and as we got to the main stages, I realised where all the people were! We watched Blink 182 from the seats, but felt disconnected as we were so far away, and I had just spent the last 3/4 hours having the time of my life and dancing about, I was pretty tired.
I thought to myself so many times, I fucking love this band. Really great day.

#5 Carole King - The Plenary - 18th Feb 2013
I honestly went to this show because Carole sang the Gilmore Girls theme song and was in a few episodes. So glad that I went because she played THE song! It was a bit emotional.

#4 Bouncing Souls/Descendents - Festival Hall - 9th Feb 2013
Everyone was fairly spaced out for Bouncing Souls, so Meeks and I got to 2nd row which was really great, except for the fact that I got stuck behind a tall girl who thought it was ok to jump on my toes and kick my shins. It felt kinda weird seeing them on such a big stage, and it’s definitely more fun when there’s space to dance about and be silly.
Descendents were reeeally good, but I guess that’s what happens when you’ve had so many years to practise!
I also got my revenge.

#3 Earth Crisis - Corner Hotel - 2nd Feb 2013
Didn’t see any of the opening bands. The drunk dick heads kind of ruined it for me - I hope they woke up with nasty hangovers!

Show #2 of 2013 - Comeback Kid!
I had so much fun, I love this band so much! We also saw First Blood who were ok, but I feel all their songs are a bit same same.
This is a really shitty photo.

First show of 2013 - Mariah Carey
Two words - fucking weird. It was all over the place, and she rambled about the most random things! Songs were good (what I knew anyways) but just so, so weird. It was a bit of a comedy show. Idol should be interesting…

To celebrate the birth of Heather - Ben, Dom, Heather (obviously) and I went camping at Wye River. We didn’t have perfect weather, but I had the best time! We went for a long nature walk to see some trickling waterfalls, went rock pooling, and saw koalas in the wild for the first time!
